Merchants of Shine was born during the uncertainty of the pandemic.

Like many people, Louis Nguyen found himself spending more time at home in Sandy Springs and looking for an outlet that provided focus, purpose, and a sense of control. What started as caring for his own vehicles inside his garage quickly became something more. Hours spent washing, polishing, restoring, and protecting paint became a craft.

As Louis became more involved in the automotive community, he noticed a gap in the market. There were plenty of car washes and detailing companies throughout Metro Atlanta, but very few delivered a truly personal experience. The service often felt transactional. Vehicles were treated like numbers rather than prized possessions.

For Louis, detailing was never just about making a vehicle look clean. It was about understanding the owner, their goals, and the story behind the vehicle. Every appointment became an opportunity to build relationships, share knowledge, and create trust.

What began as a passion project soon opened doors to experiences and opportunities Louis never expected.
